Trump has taken some heat as being a hypocrite for yelping about companies who have products made in China, Mexico, and elsewhere when he has products made in the same countries, such as his ties (China), ‘Make America Great Again’ hats (China), shirts (Bangladesh), and suits (Mexico).

A new Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll shows Hillary Clinton’s lead over Donald Trump widening after the Republican nominee’s tumultuous week, which saw him attack a Gold Star family and temporarily refuse to endorse key Republicans facing primary races, like House Speaker Paul Ryan. Clinton’s national lead over Trump swelled to nine points, with her earning 47% to his 38% in a head-to-head match-up. More ominous for Trump, however, was Clinton’s domination across the map: She led across all four major regions of the country—Northeast, Midwest, South, and West—in the poll, including a notable 3% lead in the South.

Maybe my anticipated vote for a third choice won’t result in a Nader-like election of the Donald, after all.

So Trump trumpets “Made in America” while his products are made overseas, he’s not alone in his hypocracy. Khizr Khan waves the U.S. Constitution while believing sharia law trumps western man-made law, like that very document. Hillary slams the “Top 1%”, of which she is very much a member, while accepting millions in donations from Wall Street executives. Obama’s “Jobs Czar” trumpeted American jobs while exporting GE jobs to Brazil. . . . and on and on and on.

“Khizr Khan waves the U.S. Constitution while believing sharia law trumps western man-made law”
Wow. That is nonsense. Nonsense with method, as it has become impossible to defend Trump while sticking to facts, reason, or even just common sense. Trump has offended the family of a fallen soldier? Let’s start a smear campaign full of made up fairy tales, something will stick and Trumps followers are too lazy to fact check anyway. Clinton and Obama a certainly not free of failure but at no point they went down that road and abandoned facts entirely. They are politicians and as such they lie or offer interpretations of facts which actually feel like lies, but this is not a binary system in which after a single lie it does not matter anymore, whether the lie was about eating the last cookie or massive tax evasion, and therefore end up indifferent whether it is a girl scout or satan who gets your vote, as they both lied at some point in their lives.
When you look up the ratings on Politfact, you can see a comparison of Clinton, Obama and Trump and they are nowhere near his foolish ramblings.

(Btw. there is nothing hypocritical about asking the group one belongs to to take more responsibilities. In fact this makes it clear that the demand does not simply come from some diffuse position of envy, misunderstanding or cluelessness, but from someone willing to make personal sacrifices when it comes to the own earnings.)

Matt, there’s so much we agree on. Let’s just “agree to disagree” on presidential politics. This post is not aimed at you, but at voters who are still undecided.

No Trump fan here, Dan, my point was simply that he is not alone in his bloviating, hypocrisy, or statements of questionable fact, but I guess that is the nature of electoral politics. I’m personally repulsed by the candidates of both major parties.

Matt, I’m sorry I misinterpreted your comment, and relieved, too. Looking on the bright side, I’d be your friend even if you were a Trumpie (which you’re not). Whew!
