kid approved

kid-approved.

This post is an example of shameless pandering.

I got the idea on Friday when my housekeeper showed up with her 3-year-old daughter Quinn and I was playing my file of Grooves of the Day that I’d selected for the Diary. It was on ‘shuffle,’ and “Black, White and Red,” a Trinidad Soca, played. Quinn immediately started dancing, and we ended up playing that song multiple times.

“Don’t play ‘Cotton Eye Joe’ by the Rednex,” Karen said. “It’s Quinn’s favorite song. You’ll never be able to move on.”

Here’s where the pander comes in. It’s today’s Groove of the Day. I’ll casually play it for Quinn when she comes next Friday. I want her to think I’m cool… but not until the end of their visit.
