Today marks the twelfth anniversary of my friend’s sporting accident, and his ensuing struggle with life as a quadriplegic. A gifted athlete and coach, family man, and inspiration to his family, friends, and strangers. Perhaps I don’t tell him often enough in my busy life, just what an inspiration he is to me, and how I share that inspiration with others, including our young friends. I speak of him often in our correspondance, trying to allay their fears about their futures, and provide them perspective on their own lives.
