So whats the big deal about being a Father. Mothers are better at rearing children than men. If someone could list six things that a Father could do better than a Mother, I might consider placing more weight on Fatherhood.

      Bah Humbug to you, too!

If you knew my friends Chris Brown and William Crooks, that would be two of your examples right off the bat. They’re both father and mother to their kids. I guess I fall into that category, too. So that’s three.

      More examples, anybody?

So, let’s see. Oh yeah, me! A single dad, I raised my daughter alone from age 9 [with thanks to both grandmas, rest them, for the help]. She graduated with a BA in psych and soc, married a wonderful man, and gave us my precious grandson Zachy Boy. Then there’s my friend Eric. His wife abandoned him and their twin sons when the boys were 4. So he’s had to raise them alone. They’re in high school now. And let’s not forget Andy, who did a heroic job being a single dad to a severely autistic boy.

So andy rea, a double bazinga to you!
